Frequently Asked Questions

If you have persistent aches, swelling, bruising, limited range of motion, or pain that does not improve, visit your primary care doctor to get an understanding of what type of imaging may be required. Imaging is also helpful after a fall, collision, or suspected fracture. You may also “self-refer” if you are not using insurance, and if this makes most sense to expedite. (Sometimes access to primary care doctors is too far out in the future).

Our Radiologist providers will help determine the best imaging to assess your injury if you are coming in without a referral. X-Rays are commonly used for fractures, CT scans are useful for complex bone injuries, MRI is ideal for soft tissue damage, and ultrasound can help evaluate tendons and inflammation.

Yes. Follow-up imaging can help your provider monitor healing progress, check for complications, and adjust your recovery plan as needed.

Insurance-covered imaging requires a provider order, while self-pay does not. MH Imaging offers free insurance checks to help confirm benefits and co-pay expectations.

A Board Certified Radiologist reviews your images and prepares a report for you and your provider. Imaging can help guide treatment decisions such as rest, physical therapy, medication, injections, or further orthopedic evaluation.
